The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has added more vehicles to the online registration services being offered amid the COVID-19 outbreak

Need to renew your driver’s license or vehicle registration in New Jersey? Thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has MVC offices closed, the state's Motor Vehicle Commission has put many of its services online.

On Tuesday, the state tweeted the list of online service available – included are driver’s license renewals, vehicle registrations, lost licenses, suspension restorations, address changes and more.

Visit a motor vehicle agency and complete a Vehicle Registration Application (Form BA-49). Present the current registration (if possible), current driver’s license and proof of insurance. Pay the required renewal fee. The MVC accepts American Express® card, Visa® card, MasterCard®, Discover card®, cash, checks, and money orders. Surrendering Registration: Sold, Junked, or Destroyed vehicles If your vehicle is sold, junked or destroyed and you do not intend to purchase another, you must turn in the registration and plates to the MVC for cancellation.

The new services offered thisweek as the coronavirus closure of physical offices continued included the expansionof the types of vehicles eligible for onlineregistration renewals and replacements to include four-year commercialtrailers, ATVs and commuter vans.

“Werecognize that extended agency closures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19have caused a hardship for many of our customers,’’ MVC Chief Administrator SueFulton said. “While these closures are necessary to protect the health andsafety of our customers and employees, the Commission has worked diligently onmultiple fronts to offset these hardships, including the addition of key onlineservices.’’

The new registration additions now add about 50,000 transactions to those that can be completed online, the MVC said.
