The Secret of Monkey Island is an adventure game that utilizes the command verb-based SCUMM interface first introduced in Maniac Mansion: the player constructs commands for Guybrush by selecting an appropriate verb and then combining it with an object or an inventory item. Objects that can be interacted with are highlighted when the player. Playing the original Secret of Monkey Island for the first time remains one of my favorite retro gaming memories and the beginning of my solid love affair with the point and click genre. The first two games in the series, spearheaded by the legendary trio of Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman, and Tim Schafer, were absolute masterpieces. Third in the legendary Monkey Island series of graphic adventures - Film quality animation, voice, sound and music-the undead come to life before your very eyes! - Incredible high-resolution (640 x 480) graphics! - A barrel of gameplay-estimated 30-plus hours! - Two difficulty settings: regular and Mega-Monkey (now with more puzzley goodness)! In The Curse of Monkey Island there's a place where you can enter the 'forest' screen from original The Secret of Monkey Island. You can only see your new Guybrush head, lurking like from some hole in a tree-stump. From another place, the dying scene under water can be visited.

The playable demo of the classic LucasArts adventure game includes a short unique scenario where Guybrush needs to discover a magic phrase to get past a troll on Melee Island. This scenario reshuffles scenes and characters from the full game. The demo is only available in EGA.
